This isn't WMP's fault. As mentioned, it's a core system architectural issue where it doesn't allow for subcomponent reinstall. Do you want to use NVidia drivers, yes, Pfft, beep beep beep. So consult LinuxMCE docs, it says get Xubuntu 7.04, so I download it, install that, burn the MCE disks and start install.

I built that kernel, booted into it, started xorg with the nvidia driver, it immediately reboots just as it did before. Something else that's odd that just started ..... Since Bart Silverstrim says he is storing >4GB files without trouble under Linux, I would ASSUME the limitation ISN'T in the 3ware hardware.

I went on the net and downloaded the driver for the video card and installed. Got the same "Out of Frequency" screen with the NVidia driver but when the computer rebooted that says to me that the monitor can't cope with whatever frequency it has been set at..... certainly isn't something that XP could display!

I even run this driver on freebsd-current (5.0 not 5.1) for almost a year. I have compiled nvidia driver many times from ports (even from sources).

This isn't an issue with FBSD, but with OpenSSH. I see this all the time on other UNIX/Linux boxes. A possible solution to it in the future would be to issue a HUP .... When I run X -configure it says : (EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (once-only module, -1077942264) and then it uses nv instead of nvidia driver.
