system says nvidia driver isn t compatible

System says Nvidia driver isn't compatible...

Hello there, I am currently running vista beta 2, and hoping to enable the aero glass UI. I have an Nvidia GeForce 6600 (256mg) video card for one display... so I go to install the Nvidia Vista Beta 2 Driver (version 88.61) which SAYS is compatable with the GeForce 6600. It installs fine, but the trouble is: when I restart the computer, a message appears telling me that the display was disabled because the VGA driver wasn't compatable. (This is shown to me via my secondary display, which I will eventually disable in order to show the Aero UI because it doesn't have the memory capacity to display it)
I have 1.5g memory, 2.4 pentium 4 processor, and a 250g hard drive.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

I have simullar problem I can't get the video to work in normal windows. I am able to use safe mode have same card and using same drivers the only video I can do is 640X480 32bit color??? I think this is because I'm in safe mode?

I can install the nVidia Vista Driver.... reboot...then says Code 39 on the driver. Then it forces me to standard SVGA. Can't use the nVidia Driver.

What card? What version of the OS?

I have a similar problem, however it is one step worse. I am using a Nvidia Go 6600 on my Qosmio laptop and so far cannot get Windows Vista Beta 2 to recognize the existence of the card at all. By default all I can access is the default VGA graphics that come with the system and these are debilitating to say the least.
So far, I have tried repeatedly to find make the system recognize the existence of the card without success. I have tried installing the drives that Nvidia has published with no success - I receive the message that either, the drivers cannot install because it cannot detect the necessary hardware or that I am not installing the new drivers on the required Windows Vista (which I most certainly am). I don't know what else to do on this matter. I have played in the device manager and tried every trick I know, but I still can't get it work. Suggestions are most defenitely welcome.
